Yes kiddos, amidst the controversy and news of a not so warm welcome for her, she did visit the funeral, right after her plane landed.. According to INQ, the plane landed at 2:45 AM and Arroyo's party arrived at the Manila Cathedral at 3;42 AM. The entourage was greeted by Sen Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III. Her group which includes cabinet members and other politician viewed the remains of former President Cory Aquino for a few seconds and sat down at the front with Noynoy. The visit lasted for seven minutes. Reports say that GMA would have wanted to stay longer but seeing that the public viewing was interrupted to accommodate her, decided not to.
GMA, after a few chats with Noynoy and Lupita Kashiwahara stood up and walked to Aquino's casket, giving her last respect with a sign of a cross. Lupita Kashiwahara is Cory Aquino's sister in law, sister of late Benigno Aquino Jr. She is also GMA's currently public image director.
Arroyo was with Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo, acting Justice Secretary Agnes Devanadera, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chair Bayani Fernando and his wife Marikina City Mayor Marides Fernando, Presidential Management Staff chief Hermogenes Esperon, and Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza.
Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Arroyo’s son, Camarines Sur Rep. Dato Arroyo were also part of the entourage. Senator Santiago once served as agrarian reform secretary and immigration chief during Aquino's time. source
