TCP: Vantage Point

It's been a while since I last posted an entry in TCP. Honestly I have been busy doing a lot of things. Aside from Sati, I am building new sites and hopefully monetize it soon. Only now that I got the chance to write again, because I gave up on building my site and finally asked fr help from Kaye.

And now back to my couch.. the theme is Presidents and First Families. The first movie I had in mind was Vantage Point. This is a movie about assassination of the President of the United States. The film was presented in different points. Through those point of views, the assassin, the plot was discovered and the President was saved.

I like this movie because the way it was presented was very different and very interesting. And another thing, I also like how the President was portrayed in the film. He was strong and willing to fight for his life, not the President that was usually portrayed in movies (weak and always depend his life on his bodyguards).

GT: So Sweet!

This week's theme for our fave meme, Girl's Talk, is our favorite chocolates.. choco what!?! Marce are you trying to kill me? I love chocolates!!! I remember when I was a kid, and imported chocolates are only for Christmas, I contented myself with Dutch Treat.. yeah that's how I love cocoa...just like Kaye who loves chocnut (or is it chocowip?)

Now that I can afford to (nyahaha), I can make a loooong list of my favorite. I can go and on. Sometimes I like Hershey's, there were times that I am up to Cadbury.. or at Snickers.. but the only flavor that I can't say no to (whatever the brand is), Hazelnut!!! waaahh, now I am craving for Nutella!!

Marce Jade is really lucky, Singapore has one of the tastiest chocolate manufacturer, I just can't remember the brand.. Fedhz, can you make a Polvoron, nutella flavored? nyahaha...

Couples Corner: Call Your Mom

Rodliz’s Nest

I was envious of how people can make a good post (or a mushy one) about their love story.. nyahah.. not like mine which is dry.. nyahaha.. for the purpose of experimenting, let's see if I can make a mushy one from a very dry love story we got.. this week theme is marriage proposal.

When we decide to be an item, I knew that he was the one I want to spend my life with. He was the same too. We know for a fact that our decision to be together is something that we cannot take back. We will grow old and spend our days only in each others arm.

We were inseparable and I stopped studying just to be with him. I lived with him in their house and that's when our relationship was put to a test. I had a misunderstanding with his family and he stand by at my side. Until now, whenever I look back, I am happy that he (in a way) chose me. At first we were happy and contented just living together. We have no plans on getting married. The conflict with his family made us stronger and we decided to get married the next year.

Although I never expressed it, it was a dream come true to marry him. I am so into him and my friends can attest to that (and they even told me I was obsessed with him.. a bit..). His proposal was very simple but I knew that he spend nights (and even days) thinking about it. He was sure that he wants to be with me but I know he was still contemplating if he can take the responsibility of being a good provider to me and to our future kids. So when he told me he was ready, I was delighted and ecstatic. It only means one thing, he was ready to start a family of his own. We were to start a family of our own.

His proposal did not went like a man would kneel and will ask the woman to marry him. There was no ring involved in his "proposal", it was as simple as telling me to call my mother to start preparing the paper works needed for the marriage. It was not even romantic but to me it was heaven.. hearing those words from him are just lovely.. come to think of it, if he did propose to me in the usual way, I would not believe him.. The way he told me he was ready to marry me is so him and that what made it more special..

And our wedding? you gotta wait until next week for that *wink

TCP: Pursuit of Happyness

Another day for the movie meme, Tuesday Couch Potato. I like this meme as it always challenge me to write a good story about a certain movie that I like. This week's theme is all about drama. If it has been any movie that makes you cry, my list would be endless as I am really a cry baby (yes it's true Niko).

I was really intrigued by a certain drama/romance movie that Kaye mentioned in her blog a few months ago but I can't remember it and I did not have the time to watch it.. Anyway, for this theme, my entry is Pursuit of Happyness.

Pursuit of Happynes is a story about Chris Gardner and his quest for a more stable life. He invested his savings in a device called bone density scanner. A machine much like an xray but twice the price. Selling it was not easy and their finances collapsed. His wife left him with their son, Christopher. He was homeless and he survive day by day trying to sell the machines. He also applied for a job as stock broker. He went through 6 months of training without pay. They spend nights on abandoned buildings, streets and anywhere else where they can sleep. It was difficult but he was very determined to make it and keep his promise to his son.

The movie is heavy drama. I cried a river while watching it. The struggles of the main characters are unimaginable. I remember a scene where they spend a night on a bathroom. You can see how difficult it is for the father. It was also very evident how he tried so hard just to give his son a good life. It makes you wish that all fathers are like him..

GT: Accessories

Another GT day... I can't get enough of this meme, not because Marce Niko started this. GT is just genius and fun. Now this week's theme is accessories! I don't know to you but when I think of kikayness, I thought of Jade..I am quite sure that she has a lot to show for this week's theme.

During the time that I love wearing accessories, this is my favorite, bought it in Greenhills for less than $10 and I loved it!!

When I had Chico, accessories is definitely a NO NO.. you know how kids munch on the small round things on your neck, afraid he might swallow it. So when I had him, the best accesories I got is this:

AND EYE LOVE IT! because I got a lot of attention (yep sometimes I am an attention whore).. It's like wearing something special. Fedhz reminded me (while showing her my new sling for Sati.. she visited me last Tuesday, beh!) that a post about this sling was one of our blog conversation starter. When I started blogging and Kaye suddenly went offline (or was to busy cursing her internet provider), Fedhz and I became closer.. Now almost a year after, Fedhz and Kaye (and Niko and Jade and Yami and Gene and Seiko.. and... wanna apply?!?) are now my MARCE..

I remember a friend of mine who has pearl (fake of course) accessories on her bag. I asked her what are those for, she says, it starts conversation.. and in my case, y sling accessories did start something nice.

Just so you know (but I am not sure who started it).. MARCE is gayish KUMARE or in foreign language, a godmother of your kid..

Couples Corner: We're In Love!!

Rodliz’s Nest

This is my first time to join this meme hosted by a dear friend and kababayan Liz.. but I promised Niko that I would make up with the two weeks I missed. This week's theme is We're in LOVE...

We're in love.. yikes so mushy and corny, yep we are not your typical couple who loves to show how much they love each other. We have ways (and I'm not gonna tell what are those, ask NIko, but I bet she won't tell either.. nyahaha). I guess this week, we are suppose to talk about our dating days, right Liz?

After we became an item, we practically lived together. He was on LOA then but visits Los Banos most of the time (I want to believe it is me he is missing). Second semester of 2000, he enrolled again and of course we stay on the same house. We went to the campus together, ate lunch together, ate each otherdinner together, everything, we did together. Then he graduated and I was left alone, he moved to Valenzuela and after a month or so, we decided (or the situation decided for us) we can't live far from each other. I moved in with him and from then on we were inseparable.

GT: Dress Me Up

Excuses, excuses.. still no good connection at home but my Mareng Niko is very demanding.. LOL ( I wonder why Fedhz is not joining GT..). And though this is a bit late (back dated post nyahaha), here is my entry for GT, the theme by the way is about favorite dress.. (Kaye, I wanna see your entry!!)

Though I am a real tomboy (hubby says I am the man in he house, I do carpentry and all..) I so looove wearing dress. I feel, uhmm, girly? This will be my last few days wearing one. Yesterday I already changed my wardrobe. Put away my maternity clothes (which are mostly non maternity dress) and take out my nursing clothes (mostly button up shirts). Wearing a dress while breastfeeding would be impossible right? er not quite, because I have one dress where breastfeeding is a breeze..

In this pic I was 2 or 3 weeks pregnant with Chico.. and yes, I can breastfeed using this one too..

This is also one of my favorite dress, was 6 months with Chico, and yes that bag is my fave bag

And remember this she blogs off with mareng Jade? I also love the dress I was wearing but hubby does not like it that much.. ask the other she bloggers why.. LOL

so how do you wanna play dress up with other girls? click on the badge to see more :)

Couples Corner: The Day We Met

Rodliz’s Nest

This week theme for Couples Corner is the day we met and the day we became an item.. yay!

I was a member of a sorority and he was a member of our fraternity counterpart. It was Nov 14
(or something) when a frat brother celebrated his birthday on their house in QC. He was on leave (in school) then so I never met him before. When he arrived, somebody says he already has a wife and three kids and by the way he looks, we believed so. We met again sometime November and I kept thinking about him (syet na malagket, inlababo ata ako!!). It was January of 2000 when I relaized I really really like him. He was focused on a girl then (wawa) and he completely ignores me.

It would be too gross if I will give you a detailed account of how I did EVERYTHING to GET HIM. Now we both agreed that he is the one who wooed me, er, I made him say that.. nyahaha.. Seriously I am still proud to say that I made him mine which he would say, I was just lucky he was a willing victim then.... which would end up in a petty (and funny) fight, which would end up in...

*wink *wink

GT: A Walk In The Park

This week's theme for Girl's Talk is favorite shoes. Oh my, I am not quite sure if I am still qualified to join Girls Talk. I am not a bag person, I am not a shoes person.. I am no girl.. waah.. but I could not let a week pass without joining my Kumare's Meme.. so here I am..

As I have said I am not a shoes person. I am more on the slippers side or flip flops for you. I am not onto Havaianas though.. I cannot wear one as my feet sweats a lot. The rubber where Havaianas were made can make my sweating worse.. I content myself with local brands like Banana Peel and Planet.. and anything that my feet would love. Honestly I don't even own a pair of shoes that is worth more than 1k. I would buy toys that are worth 1k or more but not shoes.. so for this meme, my fave shoes is something that I can walk in the park without complaining that much..

Couples Corner: Mr and Mrs

Rodliz’s Nest

Meet The Couple here in Couples Corner. Click on the badge to see more happy couples in the blogniverse.

I am pehpot and you know that by now. He is cata and though most of you does not know him,
he has been on my blog more than once (and hey he was once a lurker like you).

I am 27 and he was 33, yep 6 years age difference but he says he feels like I treat him like a child most of the time (must stop reprimanding)

He is a software developer, I am a full time mom. He says he wants a stay at home wife, I
say I want a working husband while I wait (for our allowance) with the kids on the house. We're perfect for each other!

He is objective and I am subjective. And it does good on our relationship. when he is too
objective, I inject some emotions on him and when I am to subjective, he injects some logic
to my senses.

He is an introvert and I am extrovert. Yup, he never likes occasions and gatherings. he is not
shy, he just don't like it.

If there is a thing that we both agreed, that's the fact that we are different from each other.

Wanna know more about us, then watch for my next Couples Corner entries :)

GT: Smell ME!!

I know I can't beat Niko, her entry is a scheduled one.. wahaha.. anyway, this week's theme for Girl's Talk is favorite perfume. Although my fave was not affected by the flash flood, weeks before that, it was gone. I don;t who stole it but I am pretty sure someone does (my old helper maybe). So if you are wondering what to give me this Christmas.. this is it!!!

and with that, my fave smell for the hubby was stolen too (Estee Lauder Pleasure).. *sigh..

Another perfume that I really like and a cheaper one too is ALWYS by Avon (Trilogy of Love). I don't have a photo but the bottle is green and the smell is oh so nice...

so how smelly are you? click on the badge to find out how smelly other girls are..

GT: My Bag

I cannot miss a single entry on GT.. this week's theme is Favorite bag..

Can you see the stripes bag in the flood? Yes, that one.. that's my favorite bag. I am not a bag person and I never indulge myself on bag hoarding. I don't buy bags usually and if I do I always make sure that it has no match. I dream of owning an LV bag of course (street PM bag).. The one floating above is very chic and fashionable and you can never find something like that anywhere.. and it's all gone now...

TCP: For The Entire Family

This week's theme for TCP is For the whole family. We never watched as a whole family actually but if there is one that we watched and liked as a whole, that would be I AM LEGEND. I know it is not on the "for the family" genre but the kids loved it and I love the OST of that movie..

Robert Neville is a scientist who was unable to stop the spread of the terrible virus that was incurable and man-made. Immune, Neville is now the last human survivor in what is left of New York City and perhaps the world. For three years, Neville has faithfully sent out daily radio messages, desperate to find any other survivors who might be out there. But he is not alone. Mutant victims of the plague -- The Infected -- lurk in the shadows... watching Neville's every move... waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps mankind's last, best hope, Neville is driven by only one remaining mission: to find a way to reverse the effects of the virus using his own immune blood. But he knows he is outnumbered... and quickly running out of time. IMBD

GT: Girls Over Boys

I am really, really liking this meme.. aside from my Kumareng Niko started this one, it is a great platform for us and talk about nonsense stuffs and our partners can do nothing about it haha... (Yobib, why don't you try starting your own? LOL)

This week's theme is about us girls and the things we can do that men cannot. I will try to make this one lighter as I got some teasing over last week's theme.. wahaha.. unlike Jade who made a nice entry last week (while Fedhz as usual, did not join in the fun..)

I will not count giving birth as it is a two way process... yes we can deliver but who's gonna pump some gas? gets?

So what it is that men cannot do and women are best on it? Can't think of any.. uhmm how about.. FAKING IT! LOL Remember the movie, When Harry Met Sally? (I am sure Kaye knows about this) Have a peek:

TCP: Artificial Intelligence

It's Tuesday again! And from now on, you will find most of my memes here (except for Mommy Moments who will stay at Make or Break). This week's theme for Tuesday Couch Potato is Robot/Cyborg Film.

I am not quite familiar with this genre but my research on Robot/Cyborg Film led me to a film that is very close to my heart. I am not talking about Transformers because that one is closer to my pocket than in my heart. LOL

Robot/Cyborg Film that I really like is AI or Artificial Intelligence. The movie tells about David, a young boy who has the capability to love but is actually a mecca (a robot). This is your robot Pinocchio and the story centered on that. David braves all to find his blue fairy and to achieve the love of his adoptive parents.

The movie is set in a time where Green House gas caused ice melt flooding the world. A scientist develop a mecca (a robot) that is capable to love and he called him David. A family who's son is suffering from an incurable disease was enlisted as a test subject. They adopt David and treated as their own. The mother imprinted herself to David thus making the robot believed she is her real mom. For a time David was happy but then the real son was cured and came home. He treated David not as a part of the family but as a toy. In one of their activities, the mom told them the story about Pinocchio and the blue fairy. Turn of events led them to believe that David is dangerous and should be sent back to be destroyed. The mom could not bear it and she just left David in the woods. David was confused and he believed that he was abandoned because he was not real. The realization brought him to his quest for the blue fairy. In the end he finds the blue fairy and discovered more about him and the other mecca that looks exactly as him and of course with the same function as him, that is to LOVE.

I will not spoil he ending to you guys but this is a must watch. OK, I must admit that I am a tearjerker when it comes to movies. David is so lovable, you sometimes wish, you're the mom in the movie and promise to yourself you will take good care of him. It was not hard to attach yourself on the characters of the movie..
