Michael Jackson's Thriller Movie

LOS ANGELES (AFP) - – A movie made from footage of Michael Jackson's rehearsals for his comeback concerts could be released to coincide with Halloween festivities, reports said Wednesday.

The Hollywood Reporter and Daily Variety reported that Sony Pictures, which is reputedly paying around 60 million dollars for 80 hours of unseen footage from the rehearsals, was eyeing an October 30 release for the film.

The date would coincide with festivities for Halloween, the annual celebration of ghosts, ghouls and all things supernatural that is enthusiastically embraced across North America.

Earlier this week reports said AEG Entertainment, the company which owns the footage and had been behind Jackson's proposed comeback, had screened its material to Hollywood studio executives.

So far only a brief snippet of Jackson's concert rehearsals have been revealed to the public.

Footage released on July 2 showed Jackson practicing a song-and-dance routine at Los Angeles's Staples Center two days before his death, supporting accounts he had been in good health.

Associates of Jackson have described the 50-year-old pop star as being in good form, including at another rehearsal the day before his death.

Jackson collapsed and died on June 25 at his rented Los Angeles mansion. (source)
