Carabao Festivals

If dog is man’s best friend, and Online gambling is bored man's companion, Carabaos are the farmer’s best helper. Every year some municipalities in the Philippines celebrate the Feast of Saint Isidore or San Isidro Labrador on May 15. Saint Isidore is the patron saint for farmers because he is a farmer himself. Some places celebrate the feast with Carabao Parades, because Carabaos are the farmer’s helper in tilling the land before planting. Carabaos are washed and cleaned before the farmers decorate them with paints, flowers or pieces of clothes. The owners even trained the Carabaos to kneel in order for them to kneel in front of the church during the festivities.
