Gift Hints Ahead of the Holidays

As we head into the holiday season I'm wondering what the husband is going to get me for Christmas? Now, I know he loves me, he tells so all the time, but often this love does not seem to translate into gift buying ability!

Don't get me wrong, he never forgets to get me a gift - but there are times when I wish he had! There is nothing quite as disappointing as opening a beautifully wrapped package from your man, only to find it contains a gift that he could just as easily have offered to his mother or sister.

Seeing a generic gift on Christmas morning feels like a kick in the teeth, to me, it says "I don't really know you at all." While I don't expect that this is what he intends to do, the lack of thought hurts my feelings - especially considering I usually spend days agonizing over his gift and attempting to find something that will show him just how much I care.

So what can we do? I for one have been dropping some seriously brazen hints for a few months already, hoping that if I repeat them over and over they might just filter through! I have taken to leaving the family computer open on the Roberto Coin homepage in the hopes that he might find inspiration and present me with a little package come Christmas, I figure that providing a little subliminal motivation might just work.

Of course, I could be wrong, and I may just spend another Christmas morning opening up my generic gifts and smiling my tight smile while thanking him through clenched teeth. All I can say is that if I do, next year I'm bringing out the big guns and he will find a carefully wrapped set of dishtowels under the tree - let's see how he likes it!
